Next.js web design agencies for startups

Five studios, checked . We're one of them, listed alphabetically like the rest.

Next.js web design agencies for startups, a Hexcode design studio directory list

A Next.js web design agency designs your site and builds it in Next.js, a React framework, so the site can do what a no-code builder can't, like logged-in pages, custom integrations and heavy interaction. None of the studios below publishes a price, but Clutch minimums run from $1,000+ (Studio Maydit) to $25,000+ (Bricx).

Your marketing site is on a builder. Now it needs a pricing calculator, a gated docs section and a login. Someone says to rebuild it in Next.js. That's sometimes right. It also means every copy change goes through a developer.

We build in Next.js too, so this list isn't ranked. Studios are in alphabetical order, us included, and nobody paid to be on it.

How we picked

A studio made the list if:

  • Next.js appears on its own site as a service, a stack or a client project
  • it designs the site, not only builds it
  • it works with startups
  • it's a studio, not a solo freelancer

We left out freelancers, Next.js engineering shops with no design service and studios whose own site states no startup focus. Prices, ratings and client names come from each studio's own site or Clutch profile.

The five studios at a glance

None of the five publishes a price. Bricx, basement.studio, Studio Maydit and Webstacks set minimums on Clutch ($25,000+, $10,000+, $1,000+ and $10,000+). Hexcode publishes none.

Notes on each studio

basement.studio

Based in Mar del Plata, Argentina, and works mostly with technology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. Its site lists UX/UI design, engineering and 3D and motion design, names Vercel and Next.js among its clients, and says it designed Geist with Vercel. It says it works with startups, scale-ups and brands. Its site doesn't list Next.js as a service, so confirm the stack. It publishes no price. Its Clutch profile has no reviews, a $10,000+ minimum project size and $100 to $149 an hour.

Good fit if: you're a developer tool or AI company and want a studio that has worked with Vercel, Linear and Cursor.
Not a fit if: you want a published price or Clutch reviews to compare.

Bricx

Calls itself a design studio for venture-backed AI startups, and shows San Francisco and Delhi on its own site, while its Clutch profile says New Delhi. Its engineering service covers Next.js, React and TypeScript builds, CMS integration and front-end work, and it lists Webflow and Framer development too. It names Writesonic (YC S21) and Sybill. It publishes no price. Clutch shows 5.0 from 32 reviews and a $25,000+ minimum project size, while its site quotes 4.9 and 5.0 in different places.

Good fit if: you want React or Next.js built by the team that designs the site.

Hexcode (us)

A 15-person studio in Indore, founded in 2020, with US overlap until 1pm PT. Our service page says we use Webflow and Framer for marketing sites and full-stack code such as Next.js for web apps and custom builds, and pick by your stage and who will maintain it. So Next.js isn't our default for a marketing site. We don't publish a price and have no Clutch reviews yet. See how we build

Good fit if: you want an honest answer on whether the site needs Next.js, from a team that builds in all three.
Not a fit if: you want a Next.js specialist with a Vercel partner badge, or a price and a Clutch rating before the first call.

Studio Maydit

A design partner for AI companies, by its own page. It lists website design and development in Webflow, Framer or custom code, and says it uses Next.js for what no-code can't handle. It says a focused landing page takes two to three weeks and a full marketing site four to six, priced fixed or on a retainer, with no figures given. Its site states no location, and its Clutch profile lists Hyderabad. Clutch shows 4.9 from 7 reviews, a $1,000+ minimum project size and $25 to $49 an hour, while its site says 5.0.

Good fit if: you're an AI company that wants the site designed in Figma and built in whatever fits, with a stated timeline.

Webstacks

Its site lists Next.js and Vercel in the composable stack it has experts in, next to web design, design systems, branding, motion and CRO, and says it helps teams from Series A to IPO. It states no location, and its Clutch profile says San Diego. It publishes no price. Its site shows 4.8 on G2, and Clutch shows 5.0 from 3 reviews, a $10,000+ minimum project size and $200 to $300 an hour. Named clients include Calendly, Gong, Fireworks AI and Solana.

Good fit if: you're a funded B2B company with a marketing team that will run the site, and you want a composable build.

Next.js, Webflow or Framer for a startup website?

Webflow or Framer if your marketing team edits the site every week and nothing on it needs a login. Next.js if the site needs custom logic, gated pages or a codebase shared with the product. Bricx and Studio Maydit build in all three, so ask which they'd pick for you.

Six questions to ask before you sign

  1. Why Next.js for us, and not Webflow or Framer?
  2. Who will edit content, and how, without a developer?
  3. Where is the site hosted, and what does hosting cost each month?
  4. Who owns the repository and the Figma files at the end?
  5. How do you keep pages fast as we add content?
  6. What happens when our own engineers want to take it over?

Questions

How much does a Next.js website cost for a startup?

None of the studios here publishes a price. Clutch minimums run from $1,000+ for Studio Maydit to $25,000+ for Bricx, with basement.studio and Webstacks at $10,000+. Webstacks' Clutch hourly rate is $200 to $300, and Studio Maydit's is $25 to $49.

Should a startup build its marketing site in Next.js?

Only if the site needs more than a builder can do. Our service page says we use Webflow and Framer for marketing sites and Next.js for web apps and custom builds. Studio Maydit says it uses Next.js where no-code can't do the job.

How long does a Next.js website take?

Studio Maydit says a focused landing page takes two to three weeks and a full marketing site four to six. The other studios here publish no timelines, so ask for one in writing.

Do Next.js agencies also design the site?

These ones do. Bricx lists web design and UX/UI, basement.studio lists UX/UI design, Studio Maydit lists website design and Webstacks lists web design and design systems.

Can my marketing team edit a Next.js site?

Only if the studio sets up a content system. Bricx lists CMS integration among its Next.js services. For the others, ask which CMS they use and who edits content before you sign.

Why isn't this list ranked?

Because we're on it. Ranking a list we compete in would tell you more about us than about the studios. So it's alphabetical, with the facts we could check.

Not sure your site needs rebuilding in code?

Thirty minutes, no deck. Show us what the site has to do and we'll tell you whether it needs Next.js at all, even if the answer is Webflow.
