What does a design partner do for a consumer brand?

A design partner makes people trust a brand they have never bought from. That means a site that leads with the brand's positioning, trust cues placed where doubt appears, product pages that let the product do the selling, and a native app when one is needed. Mishmash saw a 20% sales lift after its redesign.

Also worked with Cuemath, MPL, Refill'd.

The cost of waiting

Why consumer sites lose the buyer before the product page.

In consumer, people choose the brand before the product. These are the patterns we keep fixing.

  • 01

The site looks like everyone else's

30 Sundays' old site looked like every other travel site, while the brand was built around being for couples only. Mishmash's read as generic, not a kids' brand with a point of view.

  • 02

The brand never made it onto the site

Mishmash's palette and personality lived in the logo and were ignored everywhere else. On national television the feedback was that the site looked untrustworthy.

  • 03

    Trust sits in the footer

30 Sundays kept a small testimonial block near the footer and a review badge tucked away, so buyers hit a book-with-confidence wall before they reached them.

  • 04

An unusual idea has to feel believable

Free coffee sounds like a gimmick. Freebean's first site read like a placeholder, which made a novel business model harder to believe.

What you get

What we do for consumer brands.

From the first impression to the app in someone's pocket, done by one team.

  • 01

    Positioning-led homepage

A homepage that sells why you before it shows what you sell. 30 Sundays now opens on its couples-first promise before any destination appears.

  • 02

    Trust design

Reviews, credentials, real customer stories and your vetting process, spread through the page where doubt shows up instead of parked in the footer.

  • 03

    Product listing and detail pages

Larger product visuals, a clear hierarchy of name, benefits and call to action, and a consistent theme, as on Mishmash's listing and product pages.

  • 04

    Visual system from your brand

A color and type language built from what the brand already is, so a visitor feels the brand, not just sees the product.

  • 05

    Interaction and motion

Scroll animation, parallax and product-led interactions that make an unusual product feel real, as with Freebean's rotating can.

  • 06

    Native mobile apps

iOS and Android apps designed module by module, with benchmarking, flows and a design system shared with the website.

Testimonials

What consumer founders say about working with us.

  • “Finding a good UI/UX agency is tough. Especially the UX part, because it needs a deep understanding of the consumer and their pain points. I recently worked with Hexcode Designs for 30 Sundays and was super impressed with their user-first thinking. They work less like an agency and more like a plug-and-play product & design partner.”

  • “The website work directly boosted our conversion metrics. Both visit-to-install and install-to-download numbers improved significantly. But what really stood out was the ability to move at startup speed while keeping quality high.”

Who it's for

Who this is for.

The consumer brands we work with most.

  • 01

    Category-first and challenger brands

Brands like 30 Sundays and Mishmash, whose positioning is the reason to choose them and whose site has to say so first.

  • 02

    Brands with an unusual model

Companies like Freebean, where the idea sounds too good to be true and the site has to make it feel real.

  • 03

E-commerce brands with a trust gap

Stores where parents, couples or first-time buyers need to trust the brand before they add anything to a cart.

  • 04

Brands ready for a first app

Teams that need a native iOS and Android product designed from zero alongside the website.

FAQ

Questions founders ask before we start.

Not here? Ask us on a call. It's 30 minutes and you'll talk to a founder, not a salesperson.

Do you design e-commerce product pages?

Yes. For Mishmash we redesigned the homepage, product listing pages and product detail pages, the three highest-impact surfaces in the conversion flow, and sales rose 20% after launch.

How long does a consumer brand website take?

Freebean was redesigned and rebuilt in 4 weeks and Mishmash launched in 8. Larger projects with an app take longer. You get a detailed timeline before we start.

Can you design a mobile app as well as the website?

Yes. For 30 Sundays we designed the website and a native iOS and Android app from zero, with each module benchmarked, flowed and designed as part of one system. The partnership has run for over a year.

How do you make an unusual product feel believable?

By showing it confidently. For Freebean the can became the center of the site, with scroll animation, parallax and a rotating 3D can sequence. Visitors feel the idea before they finish scrolling.

Our brand is only a logo. Can you build on that?

Yes. Mishmash's colors and energy already lived in its logo, so we built the whole UI color language from there. If there's no brand to build on, our brand identity service covers it.

How much does it cost?

We don't publish price tiers because scope changes the number too much. There are three ways to work with us: a fixed-scope project with a fixed timeline and price, a monthly retainer, or hourly for audits and advisory. Book a 30-minute call and you'll have a scoped proposal with deliverables, timeline and cost after it.

Who will actually work on our project?

Senior designers and developers, and a founder on every project. No account managers and no handoff to juniors after the sales call. You get a shared Slack channel with the people doing the work.

Three ways to work with us. All built for how founders actually operate.

No 12-month retainers with vague scopes. No mystery invoices. Pick the model that fits your stage, change it when your stage changes.
